Nathan is 9 years old and lives in the suburbs with his mother, father, and younger sister.
Nathan was waking up from a good night’s sleep after enjoying all the trimmings at their annual Thanksgiving dinner. As he stretched, yawned, and remembered the pumpkin pie loaded with whipping cream from the night before, he realized it was officially the start of the Christmas season.
This was a tradition in his home, which meant his family did the same thing every year on this day. Nathan refers to this as the holiday traditions and repetitions because every year his family makes the same holiday preparations. These repetitions are comforting, knowing they come every year, and they are something exciting to look forward to.
